January, 2008 – Outdoor Idaho won for Best Series at the annual PBS gathering in Ohio. "A Palouse Paradise" also won for Best Science & Nature program; and "Idaho Getaways" won the Information category. The awards came from NETA, the National Educational Telecommunications Association. Report warns thousands of historic sites on USFS lands in danger
A report (.pdf) issued Thursday by the National Trust for Historic Preservation said that there are at least 325,000 sites of significant historic value on national forest lands across the nation that are at risk because the U.S. Forest Service doesn't have the money to protect them.

As climate changes, public land managers' role evolves
The loss of glaciers in Glacier National Park in Montana will change how the flora and fauna that depend on the environment fed by the glacier live - and where they live; public land managers in Montana and across the nation are wondering how changes they're seeing on their lands will, or should, alter how they do their jobs.
