Dialogue, a production of Idaho Public Television, premiered on November 10, 1994. After more than 500 programs, it still remains true to its original concept: a statewide public affairs show covering issues of importance to Idahoans.
It is also the only statewide call-in program in Idaho. On most programs, viewers can call a toll-free number (1-800-973-9800) to express an opinion or ask a question. Viewers can also email a question or comment before the program to dialogue@idahoptv.org.
Occasionally programs are taped to allow for discussions with visiting experts. Calls and emails are not taken on these programs. Guests appear in our Boise, Moscow or Pocatello studios.
Dialogue airs Thursday evenings at 8:30/7:30 p.m. MT/PT on Idaho Public Television. The program is usually 30 minutes long, although sometimes it is expanded to an hour. Starting January 15, 2012, Dialogue is repeated on Sundays at a new time, 10:30/9:30 a.m. MT/PT. In addition, it can be heard on radio stations NPR News 91 (Treasure Valley) and KISU-FM (eastern Idaho).
The program is hosted by Marcia Franklin and Joan Cartan-Hansen, longtime Idaho reporters. To share ideas, viewers are encouraged to use our feedback form, call toll-free 1-800-543-6868, or write us at 1455 N. Orchard Street, Boise, ID 83706. Generally, a three-week lead time is preferable, but Dialogue can also respond to breaking news events.
Dialogue is funded with a generous grant from the Laura Moore Cunningham Foundation.
